Thank You!
Attendees & Supporters,
On behalf of the Earl B. Gilliam Bar Foundation thank you for joining our 2018 Civil Rights Luncheon in remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on the 50th Anniversary of his assassination. This was a sold-out event and we truly appreciate your attendance. A very special thank you to our Bar Success Sponsors Jose & Laura Castillo and our photographer Barry Carlton. To hear more about the luncheon please see the following coverage by the San Diego Union Tribune.
We hope you were inspired by our esteemed panel who reminded us of the importance of using our power to influence and shape a narrative that promotes racial equality as envisioned by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Our power to influence is enriched by educating ourselves on how implicit bias and generational racial inequality continues to impact our present society. Let’s use our education and power to agitate, litigate, and continue the work of those who came before us.
In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., “…I’ve seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people will get to the promised land.”
With gratitude,
Abrina Wheatfall
